EM challange #'s 8 &23

These are in a wonderful old psychology text with pages that take watercolour well and don't intimidate the novice. Can't remember where I read this very good advice.

You certainly don't seem to be a novice! I really like this effect.

Wow, I LOVE this. And finding good (free?) w/c paper is fabulous! In my work (college library) we toss out tons of old text. I'd saved a few for altering, but never considered them just as sketchbooks. Thanks!

This is GREAT! I love trying watercolor over text, but have never had the beautiful results that you show us here.

Hello!
What beautiful sketches and drawings you have in your blog. I am so very impressed. But I ahve to say I particularly love these 2 and the one of your cat. The idea of doing them in a book is brilliant. Strangely enough I've been talking to a friend about doing that very thing as we're both keen on sketching (not that we get our act together) and we're both currently clearing out our respective homes of clutter...mainly books. But what a way to use an old book, 'specially one you've read and enjoyed. I'm going to do the same thing if you don't mind....I love the idea, and it looks so effective. I occasionally stick newspaper in my sketchbook and sketch over that, but it's not quite the same.....
Lovely lovely work.
